Dadu

Dadu is a famous city located in the province of Sindh. This beautiful town has the Indus River in its west and Hyderabad on the northwest side, about 160 kilo meters away. Dadu is also known for being one of the distribution centers in Sindh. Many government colleges for males and females are there, operating with the affiliation with the University of Sindh. Dadu has a fertilized alluvial tract, supplying through the Sukkur Barrage on the Indus River. It produces sorghum, rice, wheat, and gram or chickpeas.

Demographics

The town of Dadu has a total population that is above 1550, 266. Sindhi is the predominant first language there, while people also understand and speak Urdu. The district comprises four Talukas, including Johi, Mehar, Khairpur Mathan Shah, and Dadu itself.

Getting in

Dadu connects only Hyderabad via road. Earlier, it had once links with the provincial capital of Sindh via the Indus Highway. It means people traveling from Karachi to Dadu need to reach Hyderabad via a new motorway launched between the two cities and then leave for Dadu via the Indus Highway. You can also get to this town by air. Pakistan International Airlines operate its domestic flights weekly from Karachi.

Getting Around

You can move around Dadu through car, bus, and rickshaws. Visitors usually reach there in their private vehicles in groups and roam around the town. Rental cars and taxis are other transportation options to explore the cultural and aesthetic aspects there.

Climate 

Dadu has sweltering and humid summers when the average temperature varies from 41⁰C to 47. The town often experiences scorching hotness of 50⁰C. Winters in the city are short and stays from December to February.

This remarkable district of Sindh has several tourists’ destinations in and around the city. They include Nai Gaj, Qadir City Park, Jamia Masjid Khudabad, Darbar Karampur Sharif, Khirthar Mountains. The town is also a transition point for those who plan to visit famous tourist destination named Gorakh Hill. It is the first known hill station of Sindh and attracts many tourists for being the Murree of Sindh. You would love the splendid views on Benazir Point and enjoy the chilly weather of the hills. Although the route to Gorikh Hills needs improvement to ensure safe commuting, many families from Karachi, Hyderabad, and other areas of Sindh visit there to enjoy the thrill that comes from staying in tents on the mountains.

Then, there is the natural beauty of the Kirthar National Park to explore. It spreads over 3,087 square kilometers and is known as the second-largest national park in Pakistan. The beautiful Jamia Mosque is in the old ruined fortified town of Khudabad. This spiritual and architectural building lies in the south of Dadu at a small distance of 7 miles away.

Nai Gaj River is another beautiful attraction around Dadu. The River surrounds marvelous mountains and hills and has chilled water flowing that makes it naturally awe-inspiring. Mian Nasir Mohammad Kalhoro’s necropolis makes another historical attraction to explore with your family.
